Bryan Eliezer Mendez, 23, of Statesville, North Carolina left this world all too soon on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Born on January 8, 2002 in New Jersey, Bryan was the beloved son of Luis Mendez and Jannette Diaz.
Bryan was a proud graduate of Forsyth County Schools, Class of 2019. From a young age, Bryan developed a deep interest in cars and mechanics—a passion he inherited from his father. Whether he was under the hood of a car or offering a helping hand to a friend, Bryan was happiest when he was working with his hands and solving problems. His natural talent for fixing things, combined with a strong work ethic, made him a skilled and dedicated mechanic.
Beyond his trade, Bryan was a kind, sweet-natured young man with a generous spirit. He found joy in helping others, often going out of his way to support a friend in need. His compassion and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to the love he shared with family and friends, he had three passions that were a big part of who he was: photography, rap music, and gaming. Each of those was more than just a hobby—they fueled his creativity, energized him, and challenged him. They were the things that brought him happiness and truly made him who he was.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Luis Mendez (Mitchetll Basilio); mother, Jannette Diaz (Tony); sisters, Nichole Mendez (fiance, Jason) and Melanie Jackson; brother, Derick Hernandez (Esmeralda); grandparents, Nicholas Diaz, Marta Martinez, and Thelma Peralta; cousins, Kenneth Candelario and Sadenny Hernandez, and numerous other extended family members who will all miss him dearly.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Bowman officiating.
Nicholson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Bryan Mendez.
