Bryan J. Silbernagel

Bryan J. "Pickle" Silbernagel, age 35, of Fergus Falls and formerly of Melrose, took his own life on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his home in Fergus Falls. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Ken Thielman officiating and Deacon Ernie Kociemba assisting. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Melrose. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Bryan John Silbernagel was born July 28, 1973 in Fridley, Minnesota to John and Marie (Kelsch) Silbernagel. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1991 and attended MN State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls. Bryan worked at Sky Vision in Fergus Falls, did construction in Minneapolis, and was currently working for Bakken Underground in Harris. Bryan enjoyed family trips, camping, golfing, baseball, and spending time with family and friends. He was especially excited and proud that he was going to be a grandfather in October. Survivors include his wife, Alonna Silbernagel of Fergus Falls; sons, Chris Schizzano (girlfriend, Kaylee Munter) of Grand Forks and Nick Schizzano (girlfriend, Tayler Vatnsdal) of Fergus Falls; parents, John and Marie Silbernagel of Melrose; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Mary Johnson of Fergus Falls; sisters, Lisa Silbernagel (Pete Ortega) of Rosemount and LeAnn (Todd) Ostendorf of Melrose; brothers-in-law, Jeremey Johnson of Woodbury and Michael (April) Johnson of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Alisa (Wayne) Keidel of Fergus Falls; nieces and nephews, Becca, Megan, Brittany, Brandon, Chloe, Oskar, Kaylee, Angela, Peter, David, Morgan, Jonathan, and Andrew; grandmothers, Katherine Kelsch of Linton, ND and Evelyn Gonderman of Fergus Falls; and last but not least, his puppy, Lily Silbernagel. Bryan was preceded in death by his grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
