Bryant Bullocks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Angelus Funeral Home on Jul. 26, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bryant Bullocks, affectionately known as Jim Mac, on July 8th, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 12, 1967, Bryant had an infectious spirit that lit up any room he entered. He was an embodiment of the Maya Angelou quote, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."
Bryant was a remarkable man who was known for his culinary prowess, working as a cook at Church's Chicken. His love for food was surpassed only by his love for the people he served. His philosophy was that everyone should experience the joy of a well-cooked meal. His gregarious nature, coupled with his culinary skills, made him a beloved figure in his community. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and the unique flavor he brought to his dishes. In the words of Julia Child, "People who love to eat are always the best people," and Bryant was truly one of the best.
Bryant was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jimmy Miller and Bernice Bullock. He is survived by his loving aunt, Bobbie Gaston, and adoring cousin, Rowena Borell. Bryant's life was marked by his unwavering positivity and the deep bonds he built with those around him. He may have left us, but his spirit, his passion for life, and the memories he helped create will forever live on in our hearts.
We invite you to share your stories, memories, and photos of Bryant on his memorial page. By doing so, we can keep his memory alive and celebrate the extraordinary life he led. As we remember Bryant, let us recall his favorite quote from Anthony Bourdain, "Your body is not a temple, it's an amusement park. Enjoy the ride." This was exactly how Bryant lived his life, and it's how he would want us to continue ours.
