Bryant Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heartland Cremation & Burial Society - Greater Kansas City, Missouri - Rayt on Jan. 18, 2026.
Bryant Samuel Scott of Raytown, Missouri, passed away on December 26, 2025. Bryant was deeply concerned about never letting grief overshadow joy, and in true Bryant fashion, he held on just long enough to give his family one last gift, ensuring Christmas would always remain a day of light.

Bryant was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, by his parents, Marcia and Bruce Scott. Though Raytown was home, his heart was always anchored in KCMO, a city he loved for its people, neighborhoods, and everyday connections.

He was a playful and deeply proud father to his sons, Thoren and Triton. Bryant was endlessly invested in helping the boys grow emotionally and intellectually, and into kind humans in the world. He believed childhood was something to protect and nurture, and he showed that belief through curiosity, patience, and joy.

As a husband, Bryant was fiercely loyal and openly loving. He showered his wife, Amanda, with praise and kisses daily, never missing a chance to remind her how deeply she was loved. His affection was constant, intentional, and joyful.

Bryant had recently been fighting a return of his liver disease and remained hopeful for another transplant. As soon as he was placed back on the transplant list, an aggressive fungal infection was discovered, and despite every effort, he was unable to recover. Even in illness, Bryant spoke often of his gratitude for the borrowed time he had already been given through his transplant. He knew time was precious, and he lived like it.

Bryant found joy everywhere. He took bike rides whenever possible, keeping a folding bike at work and another on his car, just in case the moment struck. He loved hiking, camping, cooking, chatting with neighbors, building and repairing bikes, and engineering projects with the boys. He had a way of making ordinary days feel happy, positive, and full.

At his core, Bryant believed in bringing joy to others, standing up for those who could not, embracing your weird because life is far too short to be normal, and, when necessary, fighting the man.

Bryant is survived by his wife Amanda; his sons Thoren and Triton; his mother Marcia Scott; and his sister Cheryl McClanahan. He is reunited in death with his father Bruce Scott and his sister Carol Scott.

Bryant made every day brighter. His joy, gratitude, and love continue to ripple outward through laughter, bike rides, curiosity, and the countless lives he touched simply by being fully himself.
