Bryce Courtenay you were so wonderful to me. Working for you in Advertising, your comments will never be forgotten. You told me when I left Australia: "I want you to roar with your art, ROAR with your art." You were my Guru. Most uplifting, spectacular human being. So sadly missed.

Bryce, it was you I named my son after. During my pregnancy I read 'jessica' a wonderful book that gave me hours of enjoyment. How fitting that I now have my own Bryce. My condolences to the family of Mr Bryce Courtenay. May the God of Peace be with you during your time of grief. Rm. 15:33

I almost cried today when I read of Mr. Courtenay's death. I have loved everyone of his books and I feel so blessed to have found his wonderful literature. He was truly a giant in literary circles. I will cherish the memories of his books for the remainder of my life and hope that his wonderful books will be read by many more generations.

May he rest in peace until his name is called. John 5:28, 39.

I am from Alaska - born and raised. I went to Sydney on holiday in 2001. As a farewell gift, my Sydney friend gave me "April Fool's Day." Then I read "The Power of One," "Jessica," "Tandia," "Potato Factory," "Matthew Flinder's Cat," "Solomon," "The Persimmon Tree," and "The Trilogy." Every single one of these books carries a spirit about each character in ways I have never seen an author become so connected. Thank you, Sir Courtenay, for sharing your gift all the way in Alaska. My prayers and thoughts to all of Bryce's family. He will rest in peace.
