Marva "Bubba" LaVerl Douglas, 59, beloved brother and son, passed away November 7, 2025, in Decatur, Texas.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, November 14, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Glen Rose Wiley Funeral Home, 504 Holden Street, in Glen Rose. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M, Saturday, November 15, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Nancy Smith Cemetery.
Marva was born on August 22, 1966, in Glen Rose, Texas, to Marva D. and Lorine Douglas. He worked for many years at Happy Hill Farm. Additionally, Marva worked at three Texas state parks, as a Volunteer Fireman, and most recently as a maintenance worker for Texas DPS. Marva enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. He was an excellent cook. Marva will be affectionately remembered for his sense of humor and for his willingness to help anyone in need. Most of all, Marva cherished time spent with his family.
Marva is survived by his mother, Lorine Marie Douglas; his sisters, Carlene L. Douglas and Charlene L. Douglas; his niece, Ashileen (Matt) Shepard; great-nephew, Emmett Shepard; his aunt, Dimple Wilson; and by his uncle, Pat "Charles E." Douglas.
Marva was preceded in death by his father, Marva D. Douglas; wife Bridget Douglas; and by his uncle Alvis Douglas.
