Bud Hunt March 4, 1925 - April 24, 2010 La Grange-Bud Hunt, 85, of La Grange, passed away, Saturday, April 24, 2010. Bud was born March 4, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Claude Hunt and Elsie Jones Ramsey. Bud served with the United States Army 104th Infantry Division "The Timberwolves"? during World War II where he received two Purple Hearts. He worked as a general contractor for thirty years and eighteen years with the Pinellas County Sheriff Department as a Corrections Officer. Bud was a member of Palm Lake Christian Church in St. Petersburg, Florida where he has served as an Elder, a member of the Church Board and as chairman of the church properties. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Stacy officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Bud is survived by his wife of thirty years, Elizabeth Britt Hunt; four children, Kathy Jordan and husband, Barry of Wilmington, Pattie Elliott Meyer and husband, James of St. Petersburg, FL, Jim Elliott and fiancee', Kathy Donovan of Gainesville, FL, Beth Elliott Pekaar and husband, Joe of Southaven, MS; five grandchildren, Teresa Warner, Elyse Warner, Robert Hawk, Joyce Hawk and Joey Pekaar; sister, Lois Hunt Smith of Wichita, KS; two nephews, Jerry Hunt and wife, Cindy of Punta Gorda, FL, Charles Coykendall and wife, Sandy of Wichita, KS; and a niece, Jan Wallace and husband, Bob of Wichita, KS. The family will receive friends Thursday beginning one hour before the service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Memorials may be made to the La Grange Christian Church Family Crisis Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 442, La Grange, NC 28551. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
