Buddy Harrison, 96, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully at his home on October 23, 2025. He was born on June 23, 1929, in Leachville, Arkansas, to George and Mamie Harrison.
Buddy worked as a lineman for Craighead Electric for 40 years, and before that, he was employed with 7 Counties Group. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, grilling, and cooking fish. He enjoyed tinkering with just about anything, going to auctions, and spending time with family and friends. Buddy never met a stranger; he loved everyone and was loved by many in return. He especially cherished his two dogs, Penny and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gayle Harrison; his daughter, Robbie; and his sisters, Frankie Forkum and Mary Jo.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Glenda Fletcher of Jonesboro; his son, Michael (Christie) Harrison of Jonesboro; daughters, Beverly McGinnis of Pocahontas, and Rena (Robbie) Escue and Delina Fletcher, both of Jonesboro. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 27, from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, with Raymond Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Ray Hill, Brock Hill, Jeff Andrews, Richard Foster, Chad Hancock, and Mike Lanier. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Presley Mitchell, Joe Miller, Randy Shopher, and Robert “Bob” Simpson.
