Buford Kandel

Buford Kandel, age 59, of Dalton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday, October 18th, 2025.
Born on March 2nd, 1966, in Orrville, Ohio, he was the son of Leroy and Martha E. (Troyer) Kandel. Buford was a proud small business owner and the operator of his own trucking company. A man of many talents and passions, he loved spending time in his garage, where he could often be found working on cars, semi-truck and tuning up his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Buford had a deep appreciation for engines of all kinds-from weed-whackers to powerful Detroit diesel and Caterpillar motor in his own semi-truck, Buford also enjoyed racing as a younger man. Buford often referred himself as, "Jack of all trades and master of none".
Above all, Buford cherished time with his family. He found great joy in sharing stories and laughter with friends and especially treasured moments spent with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Kandel.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 23 years, Sheri (Cline) Kandel; his mother, Martha Kandel of Dalton, Ohio; and four children: Nikole (Richard) Poole of Bolivar, Ohio; Ashley (Alex) Hege of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Diedra (Brandon) Mickle of Massillon, Ohio; and Kaitlyn (Andrew) Kowicki of Magnolia, Ohio. Buford was a proud grandfather to Rylynn and Skylar Poole, Allysen and Ashten Hege, and Coen and Emilia Kowicki; three grand-felines, Jolinar, Anakin and Demerzel. He is also survived by his sisters, Corene (Dustin) Kandel of West Virginia, and Danelle (John) Young of Arkansas, along with four nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Alexis, Tristan and Shelby.
In keeping with Buford's wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Heritage Cremation and Burial Society
