Herman Randall "Bunch" McKinney, Jr., 74, of Itmann, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his residence with his loving and devoted wife, Polly by his side. 

Born July 7, 1951, in Mullens, WV  and was the son of the late Herman Randall McKinney, Sr. and Barbara (Clay) McKinney. 

Bunch was a 1969 graduate from Mullens High School , a former coal miner and a member of the UMWA, and attended the Itmann United Methodist Church. He had a deep love and appreciation for horses and was known throughout the community as a excellent farrier.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two brothers, James and David McKinney.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 24 years and caregiver, Polly McKinney; daughter, Renee Grim (Mark) of Coal City; grandchildren, Zach, Brady, and Jacob Grimmett and Cheyenne Grim; two brothers, Richard McKinney (Rainelle) of Barkers Ridge and William (Yogi) McKinney (Rhonda) of King, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Itmann United Methodist Church, Itmann with Pastor Jason Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. 

Friends may call from 11:30 AM until service time Wednesday at the church. 

Donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia Bowers Hospice House 454 Cranberry Drive Beckley WV, 25801. Polly would also like to thank Hospice of Southern West Virginia for the love and compassion that they have shown to Bunch during the past 5 plus years. Especially Tanya Bailey, Heather Heath, Amy Shumake-Lanham, and Sandy Harper.
