Bunny Marshall Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 18, 2025.
Frances Eve Marshall, of Saint Simons Island, died suddenly at her home on the island where she had resided for 40 years on Nov. 7, 2025.
Affectionately known to her friends and everyone as "Bunny" because of her Easter birthdate, she was a source of joy to those around her. She graduated from Auburn University after her formative years in Reynolds, where her parents resided on a large family farm. Bunny was rather a Renaissance woman, writing for several newspapers, selling the earliest cell phones, and was the sole owner of the Saint Simons Tourist Trolley for 34 years. She was an avid reader, devouring usually two books a week.
Her social life at times rivaled that of a Park Avenue socialite with the many celebrations and holidays she shared (both food and her winsome personality) with others. Thus, she perfected her culinary skills for diverse cuisines, rivaled only by her gustatory glee. She was politically very active and still believed in diversity in its many forms.
Travel was another favored avocation with trips to Europe and the Islands. In fact, she and her very close friend, Karen Bair, sat with Katie Couric in a private booth at the famous Café Carlyle in New York City. Finally, although there was never a "finally" with the gregarious Bunny, she persevered with immense bravery through her last years with impaired vision but never lost sight of her many friends. Her father, C. E. "Sink" Marshall; brilliant mother, Anne Halley Marshall; and two brothers, Alton "Buddy" and William "Pat" Marshall predeceased her.
Survivors of the family include the children of Pat, Amanda Marshall Lockwood of Reidsville and Clif Marshall of Reynolds.
Memorial services have not been formally determined at this time, but interment will be scheduled for the Marshall gravesite in the cemetery adjacent to First Baptist Church of Reynolds.
