Buster (Jack) Roberts, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024, at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born June 9, 1950 in Indianapolis, a son of the late Jack and Ruth (Benge) Roberts.
Buster attended school at Arlington and then graduated in 1968 from La Salle High School. He attended Ivy Tech and retired from IPS following over 25 years of service as a Carpenter/Locksmith in the Facilities Maintenance Department. He also owned a contracting business from 1973-1989, working as a General Contractor for many projects. He worked for over a year helping build the new Christian Tabernacle, of which he was a member for many years. The cross above the baptismal was his pride and joy. He diligently supported his church and missionaries with his substance.
He enjoyed driving his trucking simulator and studying animals. A professional tinkerer, he enjoyed repairing anything and everything for his loved ones. No matter how he was feeling, he always responded when asked how he was doing with, “Wonderful!”
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 56 years, Connie K. Roberts of Indianapolis; a daughter, Lynn Eagan of Indianapolis; a son, Chad (Rebecca) Roberts of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Eagan, Kerryn Ehrgott (Austin), and Eli Belsheim; two sisters, Judy Green of Indianapolis and Donna Roberts of Plainfield; two brothers, David Roberts of Plainfield and John Roberts of Cumberland; a great grandson, Rowen Ehrgott; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Gidget.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Roberts; three grandchildren, Summer Eagan, Jordy Eagan, and Jesse Terry.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024 at Christian Tabernacle, 802 S. Franklin Rd., Indianapolis. Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. noon at the church with Pastor Kent Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
