Buzz Franklin

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Buzz Franklin, 88, entered into rest on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Cox Medical Center, Branson.
Carl Dean "Buzz" Franklin was born on January 5, 1935 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of George Franklin and Permelia (Poindexter) Franklin. Buzz was a veteran of the United States Army. He proudly served during peacetime and was stationed in Germany. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to the Chicago area where he worked as a meat cutter for Jewel Food Stores.
On May 4, 1974, Buzz married his loving wife, Janet. They had recently celebrated 49 wonderful and fun years of marriage. Buzz and Janet moved to Branson in 1994 from Mc Henry, IL. Buzz took on his second career in life, working at Big Cedar Lodge for fifteen years as a shuttle driver. One of his favorite past times was fishing with his sons and close friends, especially at Leech Lake in Minnesota. Buzz will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, love, guidance and friendship.
Buzz was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Clifford Franklin; and two sisters, Marjorie Warren and Georgia May Kalbus.
He leaves behind his wife, Janet (Treadwell) Franklin of Branson; children, Bryan Franklin (Kathy) of Harvard, IL, Jeff Franklin of Harvard, IL, Judy Frett (Mike) of Crystal Lake, IL, Gina Peabody (Mike) of Lake in the Hills, IL; granddaughters, Jamie Donelli and Ashley Harden; five great-grandchildren as well as extended family and many friends.
Buzz's life will be celebrated in both Branson and Illinois at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
