Clarence Michael Wright, 72, of
Loudon, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2023, the 32nd wedding anniversary with his wife, Tammy. Michael was born in
Barberton, Ohio on September 8, 1951. He was a devoted man of God and a dedicated husband, father, and friend.
Michael graduated from Olivet College in 1974. His work experience encompassed sales, marketing, product development, and start-up initiatives with global organizations including Casio, Inc. & Hobart. His heart was serving both customers and colleagues and contributing to the success of others.
Michael's true passion was serving the Lord Jesus Christ wherever he went! He began full time ministry work, earning his Masters in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2006, and served on staff for five years at Urbancrest Baptist Church in
Lebanon, Ohio. Over the last 25 years, he partnered with both ministry and non-profit organizations to share the gospel "down the street" and "around the globe," serving students, business professionals, missionaries, and church planters. He co-authored two books and served as a mentor for many individuals. Michael and Tammy served for three years in Amsterdam as part of the International Missions Board and traveled over the years to numerous places on short term missions including Alaska, Florida, Uganda, Uruguay, Venezuela, Mexico, North Macedonia, and Belgium.
Michael and Tammy moved to
Loudon, Tennessee in 2012 where he enjoyed hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, working out, biking, writing, and international travel. He had a love of classic cars and was given the nickname, "Mustang Mike," having owned classic Mustangs over the years.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Virginia Hatcher-Wright, and his father, Clarence Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Sue Wright, sister Deborah Lynn (Wright) Wease and husband Ray Wease, sister Pamela Jean (Wright) Bailey and husband James Bailey, daughter Melissa Therese Preusser and husband Kevin Preusser, daughter Venessa Dawn French and husband Donald French Jr., granddaughters Jessa Lee Johnson, Estrella Karoleena Lemus, Hailee Marie French, and grandson Donald Charles French III.
We give special thanks to our family, church family and friends for all their support and love over the years and in these latter days. You have truly exemplified the "presence of God" through the "people of God" and we are eternally grateful.
