Caleb Jeremy Hartmann, 37, of Mansfield, CT beloved father, son and brother, passed away peacefully at Backus Hospital on May 25, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born on October 27, 1986, in Hartford, to Craig S. Hartmann and Roberta (Clark) Lussier.
Watching Caleb grow up was such a joy. He was mostly a mischief maker with an immense interest in learning and working with his hands. Anything mechanical with moving parts was intriguing to him, even at a young age and led him to become the man he was. Caleb was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. At the age of 12, he shot a bear, two 8-point bucks, and was even able to run his own excavator and skid steer loader. He always liked to stay busy, and what a busy boy he was! As he grew older, he found a new interest in home building, learning from his brother-in-law, Rob (Allevo Builders in Enfield). While there, he was able to learn about tools, teamwork, and how hard work pays off. This experience led him to Juliano's Pools in Vernon where he eventually became a crew foreman and was employed for many years until his passing. Caleb enjoyed his time at Juliano's very much and built lasting friendships with many coworkers. In particular, Caleb's manager Scott George was also like a big brother to Caleb - always watching out for him and supporting him in various ways. Scott stood by Caleb in both good and troubled times and we are most grateful for his faithfulness. But Caleb's proudest moment and accomplishment was becoming a father when his son Tommy was born. A greater love for a son cannot be matched. Caleb spent as much time with Tommy as possible - hiking, playing baseball and wrestling together. The shear excitement in Caleb's voice when he would call his father with stories about special moments spent with Tommy will never be forgotten. You could truly hear the love for Tommy in his voice and he couldn't wait until the next time he got to see him again. We pray for Tommy at such a young age, that he might never forget the love of his father.
In addition to his son, Caleb leaves his beloved parents and their spouses, Craig Hartmann (Debbie) of Venice, FL and Roberta Lussier (Mike) of Charlton, MA. Caleb is survived by his three siblings and their spouses, Darcy Biathrow (Tim) of Avon, Kristen Allevo (Rob) of Somers, and Joshua Hartmann (Emily) of White Plains, NY; a niece and nephews, and too many cousins to list except his most devoted cousin, Carol Hartmann, who would call and catch up with Caleb frequently to keep his morale up and lend an ear.
A private graveside service for immediate family and close friends will be held at the family's convenience in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a trust fund established in Tommy's name, as Caleb would have wanted. Donations may be sent to National Financial Services, c/o Trailhead Financial, LLC, 540 Meadow Street, Ste. 104; Agawam, MA 01001. Please include "Thomas Hartmann Trust" in the memo.

Caleb will forever be remembered. I loved the Family Holiday gatherings with your Mom and Dad. Best food ever! Will never forget when you showed up at my house for a holiday dinner with spiked Orange dyed hair at maybe age 9. You were special to me, I will always have a place in my heart for you. Hoping that you are at peace and maybe are with Brenden. Love always. My condolences to your Mom and Dad, Darcy, Kristen , Josh, and Tommy and the rest of the family. God Speed you precious child.
