On Sunday September 15, 2024, we lost the heart of our family when Caleb was called back to our Heavenly Father. Caleb Conrad Stewart was born on another beautiful Sunday afternoon May 24, 2015 in Sun City West AZ. He is survived by his Father - Darren Stewart, his mother - Heidi Wells Stewart, his sister - Alexia and his 3 brothers - Parker, Elijah and Spencer.
For anyone who had the privilege to have known Caleb, you would have known that he loved music and he loved to sing with his beautiful voice and went everywhere humming. He knew every song from every movie that he ever watched and would break them out all the time. He could sing before he could speak, and the best way to get his heart was to sing with him. With a soy allergy, he was not able to eat all the things that a typical boy would want to eat, but he loved his popcorn by the bucket and his daily dosage of chips and salsa. If you had ever seen him in a swimming pool, you would have thought that he had web feet, as he was such a good swimmer and he seemed to live in the pool each summer.
Caleb also loved his Legos, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, but especially his Transformers. The number of movies he made on his parent's and sibling's phones where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee battled and won against the Decepticons is truly amazing. If you have spent anytime with him, you would have met his Transformers and he would have changed their form multiple times for you with all the appropriate sound affects. You may have even seen him get down on the ground and transform himself for you.
Just like Caleb would take his toys and "transform" them, Caleb transformed his family. Caleb was a person of pure love and joy. He had a contagious giggle, was the one that would talk to every baby he saw, and the one that would say I love you first. He loved to snuggle with his family, never minded when you held his hand and was always looking for a way to be with his big sister and brothers. He thought he was one of the "cool kids" and plopped himself down in the middle of the fun whenever their friends were over.
We will celebrate his life on Tuesday, September 24th at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building at 2 Hilltop Circle, Durango CO 81301. A viewing will be held at 10 am before the service. A link will be provided upon request for the funeral. After the funeral, a graveside dedication will occur at Greenmount Cemetery. Additionally, a memorial will be held in Gilbert, AZ in the coming weeks.
One of Caleb's dreams was a tree house. We will be planting a big tree on our property in memory of our sweet boy. In lieu of flowers a tree fund has been set up. Caleb's Tree Fund
