With broken hearts we announce that Calen DiBlasi, age 41, our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Those who knew Calen lost a beautiful soul and light in their lives. Calen loved the Lord and we know that he is now with Jesus and several other loved ones in Heaven.
Calen will be greatly missed every day by his parents, Mark and Patti DiBlasi, brothers Justin, Benjamin and Samuel DiBlasi, sisters Briana Roe, Abigail, Rebecca and Naomi DiBlasi, brother-in-law Bryan Roe, nephews Stellan and Caedman Roe, niece Brighton Roe, his grandmother Donna DiBlasi, his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends and co-workers.
Calen was born on August 1, 1982 in
Nashville, TN to Mark and Patti DiBlasi. Calen was kind, thoughtful, caring and loved others well. He gave great hugs and always made time for his friends and family. Calen loved animals, especially dogs, and they loved him right back. Calen was dependable, fun, spontaneous, smart, thoughtful and a great friend to others.
Calen was a fun-loving, easy going child and enjoyed playing soccer throughout his youth. As he got older, he enjoyed running, and completed the Chicago Marathon twice. Calen was involved with YoungLife, a student ministry, and served multiple summers at different YoungLife camps where he made lifelong friendships. Calen came to accept Jesus as his Savior through the ministry of YoungLife and continued to grow in his relationship with the Lord throughout his life. Calen graduated from Neuqua Valley High School in
Naperville, Il and would go on to graduate from Judson College with a Bachelors Degree in Business.
Calen started at Sterling Engineering as a Recruiter and more recently as an Account Coordinator. He worked diligently over the past 6 years with Sterling and earned several company awards throughout his career, however, what he valued most was his relationships with his co-workers there. He made many great friends and worked alongside his older brother Justin DiBlasi and his best friend of 26 years, JD Stitt. He loved his job and the people he worked with.
Calen made family a priority in his life, visiting extended family in Ohio and coming down to Florida to visit often. His parents, siblings and niece and nephews loved how Calen was so dedicated to visiting family. Additionally, the family dogs, Bogie, Bella, Nemo, Millie and Wrigley were extremely excited to see Calen every time he walked through the door! Calen loved all dogs, often dog sitting for co-workers, friends and family.
His family and friends are heartbroken at the thought of carrying on without Calen here with us this side of heaven. We will forever be grateful for each hug, talk, text, phone call, hang out and "I love you" that we shared with him these last 41 years. He made others feel so very loved, special and important. He was a beautiful soul with the biggest heart and will be missed every single day.
Calen, you are forever in our hearts and words cannot describe the immense love we all have for you. We will hold your memory close every day until we get to see you again. We love you forever and always.
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26
"So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." John 16:22
