Cally Davis, 74, of
Salt Rock, WV, formerly of
Kermit, WV, was welcomed into her heavenly home by her savior, Jesus Christ, on January 1, 2026. She was born January 19, 1951, to the late Ellsworth and Rachel Gillman of
Kermit, WV.
Cally was a graduate of Kermit High School and received her Nursing Degree from Prestonsburg Community College. She worked for several years at both Williamson ARH and later, Cabell Huntington Hospital, where she was loved and respected by her coworkers. Above all, she shined her light in her roles as a devoted wife and mother, never failing to put her husband, Ronnie, and children, Scott and Greg, first. She was the perfect example of steadfast love, presented in her every action. She was lovingly referred to as Maw-maw by her five grandchildren, who were blessed beyond measure by her love and presence. Each of them knew her as a constant presence through every event in their young lives. She gave every second that she had to those that she loved, caring little to spare any for herself alone. She was the five-star cook of the family, and if you knew her, you know that your plate wouldn't remain empty for more than thirty seconds before she'd insist you fill it again. She gave every ounce of love that she had to give to her family. From elaborate dinners at small family get-togethers, where she did the work of ten women, to taking long walks with the grandchildren in her later years and being a constant presence in their lives, she showed her daughters-in-law what the perfect wife, mother, and mother-in-law looked like. She was, and will forever be Cally Gillman Davis, wife of Ronald Carl Davis, a union of almost fifty years. She was everything good, and her family was exceptionally blessed to know and to love her.
She will be missed dearly by her husband, Ronald Carl Davis, her son Scott Davis and wife Crissy of Kenova, WV; her son Greg Davis and wife Kristi of Ona, WV; her grandchildren Alissa, Colton, Hadlee, Liam, and Dawson; brother Stanley and wife Rita Gillman; brother Roger Gillman, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Rachel; her sisters, Reba Marcum, Nell Davis, Gaye Marcum, and Jean Marcum; her brothers, Earl Gillman, Ermal Gillman, and Leonard Gillman; her half-sisters Lorraine Gillman Dodge, Bessie Gillman Messer, Easter Gillman Brewer, and Merley Gillman Davis; her half-brothers Olen Gillman, Walter Gillman, Burley Gillman, James Gillman, Richard C. Gillman; and extended family.
