Mr. Elder was a kind and gentle man who loved all of us students and always ensured that they received his best. I can recall many days in his science class and riding his bus. My fondest memories of him was when these guys were arguing about a pencil or a pen. Mr. Elder began asking questions and one of the guys said that the other one stole their pencil or pen. Mr. Elder walked to the front of the class and told all of us "if you´re going to steal, steal big. Don´t go to prison for robbing Church´s Chicken but go to prison for robbing a bank." We all stopped and just looked. The next memory was when my sister, who was ALWAYS late getting to the bus, got on the bus in front of our house, yet again. He looked at her and said, "alright lil´ lady, this is not a bus stop." Those were the days. Mr. Elder will truly be missed. He has impacted so many young lives over the course of his life. He may be gone, but he´ll NEVER be forgotten.
