Calvin Geddings

Calvin Geddings, 82, husband of Patricia Ann Hinson Geddings, died Monday, March 4, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Ashley Geddings and the late Alice Ardis Geddings. Mr. Geddings was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Verizon Telephone Company after thirty-four years of service.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three children Derek Geddings (Kelli) and James Geddings (Tiffany) both of Sumter, and Reef Stone of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Zack Gray, Avery Geddings, Abrahm Geddings, and Carter Geddings; one brother, A.L. Geddings (Louise) of Sumter; a sister, Carol Hodge (Jimmy) of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Chris Moore. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Nunnery, Dillon Kirby, Philip Graham, Mark Dively, P.O. Austin, and Johnny Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be LCpl. Zack Gray, Keven Hodge, Andy Hodge, and Wayne Geddings.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church and other times at the home.
