Calvin Long Obituary
Dean was born on June 27, 1958 to the late John Henry and Margaret Lewis Long. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Grady "Buddy" Long and his sister, Sissy Long Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Caines officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 12:30-1:45, prior to the service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
Family man and lineman, Calvin Dean Long will be remembered with love and the upmost respect with his passing.
Dean loved God, Family, Farming and had Grit that could move mountains. All were his passions which he shared freely with family, friends, along with his colleagues.
Dean will be greatly missed, and we can only hope to honor his legacy by striving to be the man he was.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Glenda Williamson Long of the home; children, Nathan Dean Long (Courtney) of Chadbourn and Joshua Lee Armstrong (Candace) of Mooresville; grandchildren, Emmie Grace Long, Owen Dean Long, Ethan Lee Armstrong, and Dylan Blake Armstrong; his brother, Guy Long of Chadbourn; sister, Belinda Long Walker of Chadbourn.
