Calvin "Skip" Mullen Jr.

Calvin S. Mullen, Jr. 70 of Glen Mills (formerly New Orleans, LA) passed away at home on Thursday May 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 27, 1948 in New Orleans to the late Calvin S., Sr. & Shirley Mae (Harrison) Mullen. Calvis S. Mullen, Jr. (Skip) went to high school in Louisiana. He joined the Navy at an early age and served in the Vietnam War. When he got out of the Navy in 1975, he worked in the Oil Fields in Texas for several years. In 1981, when the oil field shut down, Skip met his 5th wife, Linda E Stanzak. They were married in October of 1984. They lived in California, Utah, Louisiana and finally, Pennsylvania. They were hoping to make their 35th Wedding Anniversary this year. After leaving the oil fields, Skip installed Solar Panels for a few years in Southern California. Once he moved to Central California in February of 1984, he began his life long career of Roofing. Skip worked as a Mentor to many young men, teaching them the art of roofing. Skip loved fishing and being on the water. His dream was to be able to have his own boat on the water so he could go fishing any time he liked. Skip was the biggest New Orleans Saints fan anyone knew. He loved his country music. He loved collecting eagles and playing games on his phone. Survivors include: Wife,Linda E. Mullen; Children, Allan J. Mullen and wife Linda Norris-Mullen, Christina L. Jones (Mullen) and husband Ben A. Jones, Sean E. Stanzak and wife Katye E. Stanzak; Grand Children, Michelle L. Johnson (Mullen), Heather M. Reyna (Mullen), Brianna R. Mullen, Robert J.S. Mavis, Michael M. Jones, Daniel W. Jones, Flora B. Stanzak, Kane E. Stanzak, Ruby J. Stanzak Celebration of Life in Pennsylvania: A time to celebrate the life of Calvin (Skip) S Mullen, Jr. Date: Saturday, June 29, 2019 Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Place: Barnaby's Aston 5501 Pennell Rd, Media, PA 19063 We will be serving hors d'oeuvre platters. Soft drinks, including tea and coffee, will be provided and a cash bar will be available. Memorial Service with Military Honors in Louisiana: Date: October 5, 2019 Time: Noon-3:00 PM Place: First Christian Church in Slidell, LA Details: A short religious ceremony followed by Military Honors. We will then go to Lake Pontchartrain to scatter his ashes, throw a wreath, and have a moment of silence. Food and drink will be provided. Memorial contributions in Calvin's name may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
