Obituary for Dougald Cameron Sewall, Jr.

Dougald Cameron Sewall, Jr., known to all as Cameron, Passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, with his loving wife by his side. He was 94 years old.

Cameron was born on July 10, 1931, the son of Dougald C. Sewall and Mary (Chase) Sewall, one of three children. He grew up working on his family's orchard, where he developed a lifelong love for apples and the outdoors. In his free time, he enjoyed square dancing, which is where he met the love of his life, Joan H. Miller.

Cameron and Joan married on April 3, 1955, a love that would span more than seven decades. Together they raised four children and built a life centered around family, community, and the orchard that meant so much to them both.

Cameron and Joan were deeply rooted in the community through their involvement in 4-H for over 50 years. Cameron ran a tractor driving club and volunteered at the Stratham Fair where they shared their knowledge and enthusiasm with youth and neighbors alike.

Those who knew Cameron will remember his quiet patience, steady work ethic, and deep love for nature and gardening. He was famous for the apples and cider at Bunker Hill Orchards, but even more so for the kindness and dedication he showed to those around him. Cameron was a cherished member of the community and friend to many. He truly enjoyed spending time with the family and passing on his knowledge and history of the area to anyone who asked him.

He is survived by his wife, four children, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He will be greatly loved, deeply missed, and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A small family and friends service will be held at Brookdale Senior Living Facility.
