Cameron Michael Sweeney, born December 8, 1985, passed on March 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ray Sweeney, Sr.; grandfather, Elry Wayne Curry; grandmother, Carolyn Williams; brother, Christopher Sweeney.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Joyce Sweeney; sisters, Mary Gonzalez (Fernando Gonzalez), Brenda Sweeney (Andrew Fleisher), and April Thurman; brother, Michael Ray Sweeney, Jr. (Karen); daughter, Eiramae Sweeney; Son, Aydynn Sweeney; bonus son, Charlie Gonzalez; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Cameron grew up in the Boones Mill area with his mother and sisters. He was a mischievous child who was his sister’s protector and up to try anything for an adrenaline rush. Books and music filled his head always. Tree climbing became his passion as an adult and he was the best at it. He didn’t let people in to know the real him.
The real Cameron struggled with his mental health. Somedays he talked about his future so brightly and some days he couldn’t picture it. A brilliant mind taken to soon. Cameron was supposed to watch his sons graduate, his daughter start school, but instead leaves so many heartaches behind.
I plead with whoever is struggling, there is a way out. For the people you love, TRY.
“To be unwanted seems to be an adjective that seems to destroy all others, but I have always been so…To always fall short of others, and their desires. I do not desire to be unwanted, but others only desire me if they do not want me. So, I shall always be unwanted.”
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the funeral home.
