Candace Lilly Obituary

Published by Miller-Dutra Coastside Chapel & Funeral Home on Feb. 7, 2012.
Candace's "LOVE"ly Life This is not an obituary because Candace never liked the formalities of obituaries. We are going to tell you some things about her though. About who she was, but most importantly what she meant to those lucky enough to know her. She was an inspiration in every aspect of her life. As a daughter to Cal and Millie Anthony, as a wife to Edward who was blessed to marry her, a step-mother to Frank, Edward, Patrick, and Gabrielle; a mother-in-law to Lita, Jennifer, and Michelle; a beloved grandmother to ten grandchildren: Miguel, Sofia, Cecilia, Collin, Chloe, Sarah, Quinn, Grace, Katie, and Zachary; and a beloved friend to whoever needed one. The time Candace spent with her grandchildren was very special to her and mutually enriched all their lives. She relished her thirty plus years living on the Coastside hiking, riding her bike, swimming, and appreciating the natural beauty around her. She was an active member of her community supporting Senior Coastsiders, Coastal Repertory Theater and the Johnson House Christmas bazaar. She was an avid reader, supporter of the arts and travelled worldwide. Most important to Candace was her Faith, exemplified by her devout support of numerous activities, programs and services at Our Lady of the Pillar Church in Half Moon Bay. She spent extensive time delivering the Eucharist to the homebound and faithfully helping with the Parish Council, decorating the Church and serving as lector/Eucharistic Minister for many years. Attendance at Mass daily was the cornerstone of her life. Candace was strong and beautiful and lived a life of grace and gratitude for all she had and all she could do for others. She led by example and encouraged all those who knew her to be their best, to do their best, and to help others. She taught us to look after our bodies and souls. She inspired us to appreciate each other, forgive faults, and spend our time loving and nurturing one another. For that, she will live on in all who knew her. A soul as beautiful as hers will never be forgotten. We find comfort now in knowing she'll keep a watchful eye over all of us and will always be with us in spirit to guide and protect us. She's resting in peace now knowing our only wishes and prayers were for her to spend more time on earth. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Candace's name to either Our Lady of the Pillar Capital Fund, HMB Senior Coastsiders or Costal Repertory Theater.
