Candice L. Kaye passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, in her hometown of Lubbock, at the age of 75. She was born September 30,1950 and at a young age the family moved to Artesia where she graduated. Candice spent many years with Greyhound Expedition, wherein she traveled extensively across the United States, setting up conventions and forming connections that only deepened her love for people. In 2012, she returned to Lubbock to help care for her mother and turned her attention to education, finding joy as a substitute teacher for Frenship Independent School District.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Hunter and wife, Kristen of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Aiden and Avery Hunter; and her siblings, D'Les Longino and husband Ron of Georgetown, Chris Cartwright and wife Jan of Plainview, and Kelley Hendricks and husband Jon of Odessa.
Candice was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Hilda (Gatzki) Cartwright; sister, Seliece Gray; and niece, Jennifer Whitlock
Private services will be held later.
