There is no way to put into words what Cari meant to me or our family. She was entwined in the very fiber of our existence from the very first when we met twenty years ago this very month. She was a person of exquisite sensitivity and deep spiritual longing expressed in her music, art, and especially her relationships and her capacity for exuberant love. When she smiled you felt privileged to be in her light, when she hurt, you´d want to do anything you could to sooth it. I pray she is at peace and rest. I pray she is having a fine reunion with those who she loved and passed before her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever exist.

I can't imagine how heartbroken you must be. I loved hearing Cari play music. My husband (Sparky Rucker) and I taught at Hindman with her, and Cari also had us perform in her school (Maupin Elementary) in 2016. I kept thinking how lucky those kids were to have her as a teacher. Mike Norris, I have never met you, but I admire you for speaking out. As a former physician, I think that's crucial, and you will probably save lives by being so courageous. Love to you and all other family and friends.
