Carie Rachel Epison, 68, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Kankakee, Illinois to Gerald and Anita Coppock Owen.
Mrs. Carie began her college education at Olivet Nazarene University and completed it at Brescia University in Owensboro. She worked as a lab technician in the tri-state area from 1987 until 2007 when her vision prevented her from doing that work. For several years she also owned and operated JC&B Just for Me, a company that personalized books for many children in the area.
Carie was a longtime member of Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene and worshiped at local churches in recent years. She was very gifted musically, especially with playing the piano and singing. In- spite of her blindness, she continued to crochet until very recently, having made and gifted countless blankets, chair covers, hats, scarves, etc. over the years. Most of all, Carie dearly loved Jesus and her family. She and her warm spirit will be deeply missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Owen.
