Carl D. Bevers

My deepest condolences on the loss of Carl... He hired me in District 27 in 1996 and continually supported me as I learned the position for which he hired me. His kindness and trust changed my life and I have embraced a profession I love. I will always be grateful to Carl.

Mr. Bevers called me on July 4th 1993 to hire me as a teacher in District 27. I remember he said he wanted me to know I had the job so I could enjoy the holiday. He was a wonderful leader and man of character and integrity. It was a privilege to work with him and to know him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Carl hired me on mother´s day in 1995 as the first certified school nurse in D27. I´ll never forget how he said i was hired because I was the only one who answered the question about how I would treat a student if they came into my office with HIV. Obviously, I would treat them the same as i would treat anyone. He was a great guy and really enjoyed working with him. May he R.I.P.
