I live next door to the Braun family in the 70’s/80’s. Nancy, Carol, and I walked to GC Junior High every morning. He was a strict Dad but lots of fun too. All the best to my old neighbors on Brompton Rd.

I just heard of Carl Braun's passing. He was my favorite player on the Knicks. Number 4 had a great over the head set shot.

I just received the belated information that Carl had passed. I grew up in New York and went to many of the Knick games. I also listened and kept score to most of the games on radio. Carl was my hero. My last name is also Braun. I'm sure that Carl is playing in the great court above. His legacy will live on as one of the greatest to have played the game.

Carl Braun was my favorite player on he Knicks. I would come to the old garden when I was a kid watch him with his one leg up and 2 hand foul shot. He and Bud Palmer were great to watch. A true idol for a young guy. Rest in peace Carl.

I enjoyed watching Carl play for the NY Knicks when I was a kid growing up
in New York. He was my first sports hero.
I loved his two handed overhead set
shot.

I was No. 40 of the Carl Braun-Ernie Vandeweghe Fan Club. They were both known as the Goldust Twins at Colgate. The meetings were at the 69th Armory, I was only in grammar school at the time so was unable to go, even only living in NJ then. The players back then played shooting basketball, not the slam dunk of today. Basketball is a shooting game. Carl's one hand jump shot was the best. RIP Carl, my prayers go out to your family and friends.

Joan: Carl & I had many good memories from high school and the Army. Should have know there was a problem when we did not get a note from you at Christmas. He was a good man and father. I am very sad about this and for you. Stay healthy and give my best to the girls.

I was saddened to hear of Carl's death. I got to know him in my early days in the restaurant business in N.Y.C. before I opened Runyon's Restaurant on Manhattan's East Side.
As a long time Knick fan I shall always remember him as one of my favorite players. He shall be missed.

dear Joan: I was very sorry to read of Carl's death on the computer today.I was one of carl's friends at cherry Valley. We played a lot of golf together. I am sure he told you of the two groups the young guys(us) and the middle aged men. We had a lot of fun together of which i will never forget. I was sorry to read about the way Carl had so many health problems. I remember meeting you once at your house in Garden City but it was only briefly as Carl and I went golf tournament that day. I wish you and your daughters the best of health and happiness in the future. very truly yours Andrew S. Ross Jr 508 nw ashurst ct lee's summit mo 64081. We moved away from Long Island two years ago. Along with Ted Williams, Carl Braun was a sports hero of mine when growing up in rural New York. The picture of his one arm jump shot is engraved in my memory. In the 1990's I had the pleaure of meeting Mr. Braun in a newsstand in Tequesta, Florida. I got to shake his hand and thank him for the wonderful memories. He received my intrusion gracefully, as he played the game.
