Carl Bryan Obituary
Born in Augusta, GA on August 1, 1967, Greg was the beloved husband of Barbara Watts Bryan and the son of Arthur Bryan and the late Elizabeth Higgins Bryan.
He is preceded in death by his mother and sister, Kathleen Bryan Thompson as well as his grandparents William and Louise Bryan and George and Mary Higgins. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Bryan; father: Arthur Bryan; children: William Bryan, Matthew Bryan, and Mary Beth Bryan; his brothers-in-law: Roy Thompson, Ron Watts, and Steve Watts; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Greg attended Westside High School and graduated in 1985. He went on to the University of Georgia where he became a "Double Dawg," graduating with both an undergraduate degree and a law school degree. He practiced law with Warlick, Tritt, and Stebbins and later went on to serve twenty years at Augusta University as a legal advisor. A musician at heart, Greg enjoyed playing his guitar with his close friends and bandmates The Toasters. He also had a love for the Augusta National and Masters Tournament, volunteering as a scorekeeper for over twenty years.
He enjoyed spending his free time watching the Georgia Bulldogs and being outdoors at the family farm.
The memorial service will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Vanover, Jason Anthoine, Charles Huggins, John Phelan, Barry Wren, and David Caddell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809 or Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia, 1446 Harper St, Augusta, GA 30912.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church.
