It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Beloved, Carl Anthony Rickerson Jr., affectionately known as "CJ", who transitioned on September 30, 2024 from life to life, at the age of 43. "CJ" was born on August 28, 1981, on the Air Force Base in California to late Carl Anthony Rickerson Sr. and Bernadette Rickerson. He was raised in the warm embrace of Jacksonville, Florida, where he graduated from Job Corps with his GED. "CJ" was a very smart and intelligent young man.
In 2005, "CJ" embarked on a new chapter of his life, relocating to Aurora, Colorado. Driven by ambition and passion, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Management Information Systems from Columbia University and went on to thrive in the IT industry. His valuable contributions were recognized during his time at Raytheon and Tallgrass Energy Partners, where he excelled professionally.
"CJ" was a devoted father and cherished his time with his daughters, Cara and Cayla. He had a zest for life that was evident in every moment spent with family. Whether indulging in culinary adventures, diving into competitive video games, or passionately supporting his beloved Jacksonville Jaguars, "CJ" embraced joy in every facet of his life.
He is remembered fondly by his mother, Bernadette Odom; daughters Cara and Cayla Rickerson and their beloved mother Maribel Infante; sister Peach Rickerson; nieces Timya Mitchell and Rylie Miller; grandmother Irene Rickerson; uncles David Rickerson Sr. (Jessica), Darryl Rickerson, and Devin Rickerson (Tacara); cousin David Rickerson Jr.; and a host of friends and family who will carry his memory close in their hearts.
"CJ" was preceded in death by his father, Carl Anthony Rickerson Sr., his grandfather, Carl Rickerson, and his grandmother, Rosalyn Randolph.
The family of Carl Anthony Rickerson, Jr. respectfully expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support during this profoundly difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have been a luminance of comfort amidst the sorrow.
In honor of "CJ"’s remarkable spirit, a Celebration of Life service will be held in Aurora, Colorado. We invite all who knew him to join in the remembrance of a vibrant life that touched so many.
"CJ"’s spirit and the joyous memories we shared will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Thank you for being an essential part of this journey in celebrating a life well lived.
