I remember seeing Carl each day at the Hugenot station, he was unique in the way he looked and I only learned his name after 9/11. So I sort of followed him through the years. After all of these years I still think of him, and wish him and his family peace

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

I went to St. John's University with Carl, and I was in many of the same classes as he was. Carl was a great guy, and although I lost touch with him after college, I'm still sad to hear about what happened to him. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I knew Carl through some friends around 1993-1994. We celebrated New Years Eve together one year at the Marina Cafe, and enjoyed some good times together at our friend Don's house upstate. I'm glad I got to know Carl, and it's unfortunate that it takes a tragedy like this for me to have appreciated him.

Rest in peace, buddy.

May Carl's warm and caring heart, his life and love continue living in those who love him. We are deeply sorry for your loss of Carl at the WTC and of his wife, Loren, earlier this year. We are deeply sorry for your great loss this year and our hearts cry with you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Mrs. DiFranco and Nancy Levy,

My name is Patric and I am David's brother. I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all of Carl's family. Carl and David had worked together for some time before they moved up to the 100th floor of the World Trade Center. I had the pleasure of meeting with Carl as recently as last summer when I went to New York to visit my brother. I already knew a lot about Carl from what David had written to me in his e-mails. I know that they were really supportive of each other and got on well.

My first impression of Carl was that of a confident young man with a great personality. I especially remember one Thursday night when I had the privilege to meet and socialise with my brother's colleagues and friends in a bar in downtown Manhattan. The three most prominent story tellers were Carl, Ramzi and Tony as they took turns telling jokes and making everybody laugh. Considering that Carl had recently lost his wife, I must say, he put on a brave face that night. I will always remember Carl for that, and try to do the same now that I grieve my brother.
