Carl Edwin Dotson was born on December 26, 1953 in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of BB Dotson Jr. and Dorothy Louise Dotson. He was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Wilson County.
Carl received his formal education at Shimer Junior High School in Jamaica, New York and he also attended the School of Arts in New York, New York. He enlisted in the United States Army in Fort Ord, California on April 11, 1972 and was discharged August 31, 1973.
Carl accepted Christ and was baptized, January 5, 1995 by Pastor Kevin Walker. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Monique L. Dotson on March 8th,2013. They were happily married for 10 years.
Carl was employed with Akzonobel Coating Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee. He also worked at CEVA Logistics in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. He enjoyed watching tv and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories loving and devoted wife, Monique LaVelle Dotson, children, LaQuita (Joseph) Johnson, LaQuita Dukes, Carl (Buck) Dotson, devoted friend, Larry Robey, play niece and friend, Linda (Wilson) Fisher-Figuerod & family, Doris “Lou” (Morris) Frierson, special friends, James (Renee) Settles, William Young, Riley Arceneaux, Robert (Dee) Butler, Phillip Ewing, Penny Forber-Briley, Charles May, Mark Mitchell, Tom Warren, Harry Holmes, Chundra Rogers, Allen Floyd, Max Gross, Tim Smith, Larry (Yawon) Simpson, and a host of siblings, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
