Mr. Carl Shelton Duck, Jr., age 62, of Forsyth, passed away June 24, 2021. Carl was born in Atlanta, son of the late Carl Shelton Duck, Sr. and Patricia Joyce Petty Duck. He was a 15 year veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a sheet metal specialist. He was also a recruiter for the military in Rome, GA. Carl was a mechanic and currently working at Ten-8 Fire & Safety Equipment in Forsyth. He was a hard-working man who enjoyed repairing motors. Carl was of the Baptist faith and proud of his Cherokee heritage.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Mackenzie Duck.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Tenena Wade Duck; children: Melody Layton of Griffin, Cassie Wilson of Meansville, Carl Duck of Forsyth, Leeanne Anthony (Kenneth) of Zebulon; grandchildren: Cheyenne, Emily, Jordan, Logan, Katie, Bailey, Jakeb, Joslyn, Johnathan, Jaydon and Kenlee; great-grandchildren: Jaden, Landon, Skylar, Laura, Maverick, Jackson, Jason, Adalyn and Wilder; brother: Tony Duck (Lisa Cook) of Sunnyside; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, 11 a.m., at High Falls State Park, Pavilion #5, 76 High Falls Park Drive, Jackson, GA 30233. There will be a time of fellowship beginning an hour prior to the service and again after the service.
