Carl Herbert Farmer

Mr. Carl Herbert Farmer, age 89 of Creston, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Watauga Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Graybeal officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00–2:00 PM on Saturday, two hours prior to the service.
Mr. Farmer was a dedicated and hardworking man. He graduated from Riverview High School and went on to work for 34 years at Sprague, later Chemi-Con, where he served as a group leader. He proudly served in the United States Army. After retirement, he continued to serve his community by driving a school bus for Blue Ridge Elementary School. He loved working on his farm and always kept a large garden, generously sharing its harvest with family, friends, and neighbors.
Carl and his wife, Marjorie, shared a beautiful life together and were married for 69 years. He and his family were also lifelong Carolina Tar Heel fans, faithfully following their teams through every season.
Mr. Farmer is survived by: his wife: Marjorie Dowell Farmer; two daughters: Susan Mast (Phil) and Cindy Lewis (Kerry), both of Warrensville; a son: Robbie Farmer (Monica) of Laurel Springs; five grandchildren: Justin Lewis (Kristi) of Warrensville, Amanda Sellers (Matt) of Hampstead, Austin Mast (Jessica) of West Jefferson, Nikki Brown (David) of Fleetwood, Bradin Farmer of Laurel Springs; seven great-grandchildren: Brook, Addie, Peyton, Maely, Walker, Wade, and June; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Lewis, Austin Mast, Bradin Farmer, Matt Sellers, David Brown, Thomas Farmer, Geoff Farmer, and Stacy Dowell.
