I met Carl in 1969. Three of us flew to Wichita for job interviews at Cessna prior to our graduation from LeTourneau College in Longview, Texas. Carl was one of the interviewers. All three of us decided to accept offers from Cessna. Prior to starting work at Cessna, on our first weekend in Wichita, my roommate and I decided to visit the First Evangelical Free Church. When we walked into the auditorium, there was Carl walking up the aisle. What a pleasant surprise.
Carl was my supervisor for several years. I enjoyed working with him. He was a good Christian man. There was even a period of time that we had Bible studies with him during lunch.
I moved to Denver, CO after 9 years at Cessna, but was able to visit with Carl a couple of times after he retired, once at his home and once at his church.
Carl will be missed and to his family, you have my condolences. However, for Carl himself, I envy him. He is able to be with his wife and sister again and most of all, he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It doesn't get any better than that.
