Carl A. Luepnitz passed away at his home in Temple, Texas on August 16th, 2024, at 94 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at Dossman Funeral Home, Belton, Texas.
The burial with Military Honors will be at 2pm on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
Carl was born on November 30th, 1929, in Moran, Michigan to Otto and Lena Foote Luepnitz.
Carl married Helen Elizabeth Brown on January 19th, 1952, in Moran, Michigan and remained married until Carl's passing. They raised 5 boys together.
Carl was commissioned into the Army on March 25th, 1954. He retired after 26 years, He was a Vietnam Veteran and during his career he received a Bronze Star, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service with with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, General Staff Badge and Parachutist Badge.
After Carl retired from the Army, he committed the next 40 years of his life as a missionary. Serving in both Mexico and China. During his life, besides spending time with his wife of 72 years, raising 5 boys, being Grandpa to 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren (2 more on the way). He still found time to write 3 books, the last one being published at his time of death and was an active member of Trinity Church in Temple.
Carl is survived by his wife, Helen, sons; Charles & wife Jan, William, Roy & wife Ceci, Glen & wife Anita and Carl & Marina Luepnitz, his brother Albert Luepnitz, Grandchildren; Lenora Oldham, Michael Luepnitz, Noel Neeley, Meagan Wempe, Carl Luepnitz, Marina Sprague, and Roy Luepnitz, Great-grandchildren; Gabrielle, Michale, Ian, Grace, Micah, Elysse, Elise, Landon, Grayson, Grady, Granger, Mia, and 2 more on the way.
Carl is preceded in death by his Parents, brothers' August and Otto Luepnitz, Sisters; Lena Cartwright, Ethel Lovegrove, Minnie Kievit, Ester Lawlor and Carrie Luepnitz.
