Carl B. Marker

1960 - 2025

Carl Brent Marker, also known as Butch, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Frick Hospital. He was the oldest son of Carl V. Marker and Donna M. Biller Marker, born May 13, 1960. Beloved lifelong companion to Charlene Shawley of 42 years. Stepfather to Calvin Shawley since he was three years old and father to his son, Joshua Brent Marker, who passed away in July 2008. Dale Marker was Butch's only brother, and they enjoyed going hunting and fishing with each other and friends over the years. A close bond they shared, as Butch was best man to his brother's wedding and godfather to his daughter Alexis. Dale and Amy Marker, brother and sister-in-law. Brenda and Jeff Walther, sister and brother-in-law; and several nieces, Stephanie, Emily, Anne, Amanda and Alexis. Butch worked for years at the Pepsi Cola plant in Kecksburg, and he worked half days while in school and then went full-time after graduating. He really loved hunting and fishing all his life. My greatest consolation is knowing that Butch and his son Joshua are together for eternity with our Savior Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Bakersville Cemetery, Somerset County.
