Carl Ellis Perkins, Jr.

Age 68, born and raised in Florence, SC, and later of Pittsburgh, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, following a heroic health battle. Beloved husband of Nedra L. (Bartko) Perkins; devoted father of Stephen Perkins; cherished grandfather of Shi-ann and Samir; loving brother of Roswell Perkins and Celeste Perkins; son of the late Carl Ellis and Sarah Perkins; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was loved by many.

Carl was known as a gentle, patient, caring, and kind man. He lived a life defined by service and empathy, dedicating himself to helping those in need in his community. For the past 24 years, he served faithfully as the Executive Director of the Bartko Foundation, where his quiet leadership, compassion, and dedication made a lasting impact on countless lives. Carl's work was never about recognition, but about kindness, dignity, and making a meaningful difference for others. His legacy lives on through the people he helped, the community he strengthened, and the family he loved so deeply. His steady presence, warm heart, and generous spirit will be remembered always.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills.
