Carl Fredrick Rieper, a thirty year resident of Fraser, died Thursday evening at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Twp. at the age of 69 years.
Carl was born in the family home in Detroit on January 2, 1939, a son of the late Karl and Erna (Olms) Rieper. He was united in Marriage to Linda Lee Kilanowski on June 23, 1962 in Detroit where they made their first home moving to East Detroit for 17 years and to Fraser for the past 30 years. Carl was retired from the Michigan Bell Telephone Company where he had worked for over 30 years as a switchman. He also worked for the Kroger Co. of Hazel Park for over 2 years. Carl was an avid knife and coin collector who enjoyed his family. He was a hard working, dependable, reliable and Christian person who always had the right and Biblical based philosophy in all that he did.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his devoted children, Carla (Chuck) Stanley, Terri (Dan) Satterfield and Matt (Natascha) Rieper; his sister, Betty Engler; grandchildren, Missy, Jason (Lena), Jesse (Satin), Joshua and Cameron and great grandchildren, Jasmin, Vesper and Gabby.
Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Friday, October 3, 2008 from 4pm till time of funeral services at 7pm with the Rev. Wayne Terry officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held on Monday October 6, 2008 in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com

Deepest sympathy from another Denbyite (June '57) . I did not know Carl personally although his face looks a bit familiar. May God's Love comfort Linda and ALL of his family.
