Carl Rood

Carl Rood Carl E. Rood, 85, of Coolville, OH passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta OH. He was born July 26, 1924 in Reedsville, OH son of the late Charles and Eva Randolph Rood. He was a custodian at Ohio University and a member of the Allegheney Wesleyan Church in Coolville. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alma Tucker Rood; 3 sons, Ed and Gloria Rood and Curtis and Connie Rood of Coolville and Harley Rood of Wooster; 3 daughters, Garland and Richard Smith of Wooster, Garrnett and Gail Lipps of Vincent and Elizabeth and Butch Horton of Bartlett; 2 sisters, Helena Persinger and Eloise Rood; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and Stanley. Services will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Rev. Glenn Easterling officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
