Carl R. Speikers, 87, of Buffalo, MN, passed away on Friday, September 12th after a brave battle of 22 years with Parkinson's Disease.

Carl was born the third of four sons born on December 19, 1937 in Montgomery, MN to Reiner and Angeline (Stadler) Speikers.

He attended St. Lawrence Grade School and in 1956 graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault.

Carl began working at Nutting Truck and Castor Company after high school. He was a stand out with the Softball Team.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963, After his discharge, he attended Brown Institute and received a degree in electronics. He was mechanically talented and enjoyed fixing and inventing anything to do with mechanics. He was the neighborhood "Mr. Fix-it".

During his working career, Carl used his talents to the fullest extent working in Maple Grove assisting in the design and building packaging machines. Upon completion of the project, he would travel to the machines destination to educate employees as to how to use the equipment.

On October 25, 1974, he and Judy Smith were married in a candlelight ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, They were blessed with nearly 51 years of a very happy marriage.

They enjoyed, concerts, theater, sports venues and traveling the US and the world. Of the many trips they took, one of his favorites was to games parks in South Africa.

He will be remembered for his kindness, intellect and always willing to help anyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew (Janet) Speikers & Roger (Kathleen) Speikers; nephew, David Speikers; in-laws, Jerome and Marie Smith

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; brother, Martin (Jane) Speikers and 10 nieces, nephews and their families.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
