Carl Henry (Hank) Sundquist, of Dedham, MA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 22, 2026, at the age of 95. Hank was the son of John and Sadia Sundquist of Norwood, MA. A graduate of Norwood High School and Upsala College in East Orange, NJ, Hank enlisted in the Air Force and served in Greenland and Seattle in the 1950s. After discharge, Hank worked his entire career at Hollingsworth & Vose Company in East Walpole, MA, where he served as the paper mill’s superintendent.

Hank was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Norwood, MA. He served in many volunteer capacities and sang in the choir for most of his adult life. It was at choir where he met the love of his life, Evelyn, who predeceased him after 63 years of marriage. Hank and Evie also enjoyed singing for many years with the Dedham Chorale Society.

Hank enjoyed many social activities, including travel and golf outings, mostly with close friends from church. He was a huge fan of Boston sports teams and was especially happy when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004.

He had a special place in his heart for the cabin and coastline along Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, NH where he spent his summer vacations for over fifty years, starting from his teenage years.

Hank is survived by his three children Jon (Janet) Sundquist, Jody Sundquist, and Steven (Laura) Sundquist; five grandchildren James, Karin, Kajsa, Devon, and Darren, and two great grandchildren Henry and Mei. He was predeceased by a brother Bernard.

Hank will be remembered for his selflessness and constant consideration of others. He always wanted the best for his family and would do whatever he could to achieve that.

Friends and family will be received at Folsom Funeral Home at 87 Milton St, Dedham on Wednesday March 4, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 24 Berwick St, Norwood, MA on Thursday March 5,. 2026 at 10 AM. A reception will follow at Conrads in Norwood Center.
