Carl Dean Swick, 82, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at Lightways Hospice and Serious Care in Joliet, Illinois.

Carl was the beloved husband of Marie L. (Kubat) Swick, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Cheryl (Tom) Cerven, who preceded him in death on October 8, 2011, and to Tim Swick (Claudia Wooton). Carl was a proud grandfather to Thomas (Mari Berman) Cerven, Katelyn (Adam) Kreisel, and Alexis Cerven and great grandfather to Thomas and Helen.

He is also survived by his brothers, John (JoAnn) Swick of Mattoon, Illinois, and Joe (Joyce) Swick of Phoenix, Arizona.

Carl was born in Newton, Illinois, the youngest of eleven brothers and sisters. He graduated from high school in 1961 and later moved to McCook, Illinois, where he met the love of his life, Marie. Together they raised their two children and lived in the Bolingbrook and Lockport areas until 1988.

Carl worked for Page Engineering in McCook, Illinois, where he held a sales position that allowed him to travel extensively throughout the United States. In 1988, he and Marie moved to Mukwonago, Wisconsin, where Carl joined P&H Engineering in Milwaukee. He served as Director of Sales, traveling to several countries during his career and earning two patents and trademarks in his name.

After retiring from P&H Engineering, Carl enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing, fishing, going to the movies, and working in his yard. He was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church in Mukwonago.
