Born in Poland, Carl was a proud and strong survivor of the Holocaust. In his youth, he came to America and was adopted by the Voldmans. Carl loved America and was grateful for his adopted family. He was an honored veteran, having served with distinction on the frontlines of the Korean War. He supported his family's soda pop business for many years, and went on to establish a successful real estate and property management company. Known for his generosity, Carl enjoyed traveling, socializing, and treating friends and family to dinner. He was a devoted member of the Rochester Jewish community, including the circle of Holocaust Survivors who settled in Rochester after World War II. Carl's personal testimony was recorded for Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation and his story was also featured in the play "Survivors." Carl spent his life remembering those who were lost and sharing what he learned about survivorship. His life was a testament to strength, courage, and success in the face of tragedy.
