Obituary of Carl Jay Wald
Carl Jay Wald, beloved husband, father and Elk passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2024 at the age of 71. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 1st, 1952 in Tulsa, OK, Carl was the son of Carl and Catherine Wald of Tulsa, OK.
Carl graduated from Sapulpa High School and went on to pursue a certification in drafting at Okmulgee Tech. In 1972, Carl began working for Frisco Railroad/ Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Carl served BNSF in multiple roles including machine operator and foreman. Carl retired from BNSF Railroad after a 38-year career in 2010.
Carl was a devoted family man. He enjoyed spending time with his wife of 52 years, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Carl was an active member of the Elks Lodge in Sapulpa. He volunteered with numerous charitable organizations through the Elks Lodge, sharing his time and expertise toward making a positive impact on the lives of others.
In his free time, Carl enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family. He truly valued and enjoyed time with his many friends at the lake and the Elks Lodge.
Carl is survived by his wife Dee Wald; his daughter and daughter in-law, Jen Wald and Kim LuWald of Boca Raton, FL; his son and daughter in-law, Ben and Lara Wald of Stillwater, OK as well as his two grandchildren Benjamin and Gretchen. He is also survived by his sister Marsha Thompson of Texas City, TX.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Louise, Carletta, Judy, Linda, and brother John.
He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Carl's life will be held on May 7, 2024 at 2:00pm hosted by the Elks Lodge Sapulpa, OK.
