Carl Lloyd Wallace, Jr, age 80, died on Friday, July 12, 2024, in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Wallace, Sr, and Esther Engelhardt Wallace; sister Audrey Allison and brother-in-law Melvin Allison; daughter Esther Wallace Bennett, and grandson Scott Wallace.
He leaves behind his wife of 46 years , Edna Sandidge Wallace; daughter Connie Burril and son-in-law Brian Burril and son Carl Wallace, III, and daughter-in-law Rachel Wallace; grandchildren Alec Sanders, Amy Herrod, Aron Sanders, Ashley Burril, Benjamin Burril, Dixie Burril, Kyle Sanders, and Tiffany Gonzalez; and great grand-children Natalie Bird, Riley Bird, Tristen Gonzalez, Alysa Gonzalez, Brianna Bird, and Brynlie Bird; his older sister Margaret Wallace; and his niece Debbie Allison.
He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and served overseas during Vietnam; following the Navy, he worked as a mechanical foreman for Exxon Mobil until his retirement.
He was known for being able to make or fix anything, even red balloons. He loved to share his knowledge with others, from fixing cars to cooking pancakes. He was the rock for his family. All he ever asked for was peace, harmony, and tranquility.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
