WILSON, CARL NEWTON Carl N. Wilson went to his Heavenly home on November 24, 2009, at the age of 103. He was born on October 15th, 1906, on a farm, near Temple, Texas, to Thomas & Julia Wilson and was one of eight children. Carl served his country during World War II as a medic in the South Pacific from 1942-1945. After the war, he worked as a mail carrier for 28 years, with the U.S. Postal Service and was fondly known as "Mr. Wilson" at the Meadows Building for 20 years. He also worked part time as a barber, at the Highland Park Village Barbers. Carl & his wife Lena resided in University Park for 58 years and were faithful members of Scofield Memorial Church for 67 years. He married Lena Montgomery Wilson in 1936 and they celebrated 71 years together until her death in 2008. Carl was the last survivor of all his siblings & their spouses. He is also predeceased by his infant son Ronald, his daughter, Barbara and his granddaughter Echo. Carl is survived by his children, Jerry Wilson and wife, Wanda, Richard Wilson and wife, Suzanne, Carolyn Hersh and husband, Alfred and Phyllisha Jacobs and husband, Randy. Also survived by grandchildren, Paula Thrash (Trey), Doug Goodson (Pam), Don Goodson (Vicky), Rick Wilson, Debbie Simmons (Brian), David Goodson, Alaina Webb (Jearrel), Silas Courson (Amy), Erik Wilson, Jared Hersh and Brenham Jacobs, along with 18 great grandchildren, plus several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Carl enjoyed an exceptional long & healthy life and will be greatly missed but remembered for his strong faith, warm smile, incredible memory, his sense of humor and his love of baseball and football. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren and their children. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Dr. Neil Ashcraft will be officiating. Interment will be immediately following, at Restland Memorial Park. Carrying Carl to his final resting place will be his grandsons.

Uncle Punch was one of my favorite people on the planet. He made me laugh with his jokes and he always had stories to tell that you just had to listen to. He was the very definition of loyal and true. I loved him very much and will forever hold him in my heart. God keep you until we meet again.
