Our condolences to David, Aaron, Eve, her grand-children, her siblings, her mother and her many nieces, nephews, store colleagues, her business partner Barbara Meade, and the Washington community Politics & Prose so ably served and enhanced. I was honored to have been one of her vendors; she was instrumental in helping the launch of our business. We hold her in our hearts and our prayers.

My heart goes out to David and all who loved Carla. RIP.

Although I've never had the pleasure of meeting Carla Cohen in person, I've made her acquaintance long distance by watching Book TV's presentations at Politics & Prose. Ms. Cohen's introductions of speakers have always been insightful and added to the quality of the presentations that followed. I will much miss her gracious presence at future Book TV events hosted by the Politics and Prose bookstore. May this serve as small stone placed on her grave in grateful remembrance of a great soul's passing from among us.

I am truly sorry for the lost of a dear mother,wife,daughter, and friend. I know she would sincerely be missed, but I would like to share a scripture that I find to be of comfort and it is found at Isaiah 41:10 " Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness." it beautifully tells us that God would become a loving father in our times of trial by providing us comfort, that comfort could be just talking to a dear friend or reading bible itself. I like the part in scripture where it say's God is taking hold of our right hand because it makes me think of being a child and how when feeling scared all I need was a parents hug to make me feel safe.

I have known Mrs. Cohen only as a CSpan BookTV personality. What a contribution to society she rendered! She will be missed.

The lady loved books. That is the best sort to be and so she lived a wonderful life and her love of books will continue to vibrate through her readers and customers long after. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and I am sure her family and friends are suffering right now, but I am glad to hear of someone who lived so well.

Our lives are so much richer because of her presence here, and because of the wonderful dream she saw to fruition with Barbara Meade which has been a rare and lasting gift to all of us who love books. She was truly special and will be sorely missed.

I loved that Bookstore I could spend hours there. One of my favorite places when ever I was in DC.

Carla's passing is a loss to her family, friends, and community. She was a bright light and brought enthusiasm to all of her endeavors.

I was lucky enough to have met Carla through friends when I was in junior high school, then lucky enough to "re-meet" her later in life, and, of course, to experience "Politics and Prose." Those of us whose lives she touched are lucky she was who she was.
